Description of the Ephesus Pamukkale Pergamum Tours
Ephesus and Pergamon are two of the best historic and natural treasures Turkey has. Ephesus is the one of the oldest and best preserved places in the world in which you will find ancient ruins. During your Ephesus Pamukkale Pergamum Tours , you will also visit the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis (one of the seven world wonders). The tour ends with a visit to the House of the Virgin Marry.
Pamukkale is a unique natural wonder and breathtaking historical site. Pamukkale is the only place in the world you can see a huge cloud on the ground. It’s like walking on heaven and a dream. Besides witnessing the amazing power of nature, you will also see the ruins of an ancient Roman City which has a truly impressive theater.
To enroll the tour you will be transferred to Istanbul’s airport for a morning flight to Izmir. Upon arrival at Izmir’s airport, you will be picked up (search for a sign with your name) and then connected to Selcuk to join the Ephesus, Pamukkale and Pergamum Tour
Temple of Artemis
The temple of Artemis is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The Temple served as a form to worship Artemis, a Greek goddess – twin of Apollo, who replaced the Titan Selene as Goddess of the Moon.
Ephesus is the best-preserved Roman city in the Mediterranean region, and one of Turkey’s top sights. After almost 150 years of excavation, the city’s recovered structures have made Ephesus Europe’s most complete classical metropolis.
Explore the ruins of Ephesus while strolling by the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Trajan Fountain and the Great Theater.
The House of Virgin Mary
Legend says that the Virgin Mary lived her last days in a small stone cottage, located in Ephesus. Mary, accompanied by John the Apostle, came to Ephesus at the end of her life. In 1967, Pope Paul VI declared the site authentic and each year a traditional service is held for the pilgrims.
After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel at Kusadasi for the night.
Day 2: Pamukkale
After breakfast at the hotel, your driver will take you to the Pamukkale’s tour starting point.
A spectacular natural site, unique in the world, Pamukkale is a fairyland of dazzling white, petrified castles. Thermal spring waters loaded with calcareous salts running off the plateau’s edge have created this fantastic formation of stalactites, cascades and basins. The hot springs have been used since Roman times for their therapeutic powers.
As if this splendid view wasn’t enough, there was also a Roman city built on top of this natural marvel: the City of Hierapolis. You can visit its ruins and see: the basilica, the impressive theatre, Roman Bath and Necropolis.
Day 3: Pergamon
After breakfast join the Pergamon tour.
In Pergamon, an ancient Greek city, we will visit Aesculapium, an ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, the God of Medicine. After lunch the visit will continue with the Pergamon Acropolis. Included in the tour are also the following places: Athena, Trojan Temples, Zeus’ Temple, Dionysos’ temple, Gymnasium of Youth, Odeon, Library, Agora, the Great Theater and the Roman bathes.
After the tour ends, your driver will take you to Izmir’s airport for an evening flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, at Istanbul’s airport, our staff will await you with a sign with your name and transfer you to your hotel.
