ITINERARY

Day 1: Gallipoli

To join the Gallipoli, Troy, Pergamon and Ephesus Tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and we will drive you to the tour’ starting point: the waterfront where one of the most well-known battles of the WWI took place. There, you will learn more about this battle, its history and facts.

Later on, we will continue to the Kabatepe War Museum, which contains relics from the battle including original diary extracts and letters. Next, we visit the Brighton Beach, the intended landing place by the Allies and the Anzac Cove where dawn services are held on each Anzac Day (25th of April).
You will also visit the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston’s Jolly and the Chunk Bair New Zealand Memorial. The last stop is the Kilitbahir fortress, our last stop, which was built in 1453 by Mehmet II, the Conqueror (to honor his successful siege of Constantinople). After the tour ends you will be transferred to your hotel in either Eceabat or Canakkale.

DAY 2: Troy & Pergamon

After breakfast we will drive to Troy. Here you will learn the mythology surrounding Troy, The Trojan Horse and Helen of Troy. Until now, 10 cities have been discovered there, one built on the top of the other, dating back to 3500 BC. You will also hear about the battle between Archillies and Paris, the Remains of Troy IX, the Alters and the Houses of Troy I, dating back to 2500 BC. After Troy’s lunch break we will drive to Pergamon, an ancient greek city, that you will discover. When the Pergamon tour ends we will drive to Kusadasi and check-in in your hotel, where you will spend the night.

DAY 3: Ephesus

Ephesus is one of the most impressive sites in Turkey. You will have the change to wander around on what it was once one of the biggest and most complex cities of the Roman Empire, in a unique state of preservation.

Temple of Artemis
The temple of Artemis is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The Temple served as a form to worship Artemis, a Greek goddess – twin of Apollo, who replaced the Titan Selene as Goddess of the Moon.

Ephesus
Ephesus is the best-preserved Roman city in the Mediterranean region, and one of Turkey’s top sights. After almost 150 years of excavation, the city’s recovered structures have made Ephesus Europe’s most complete classical metropolis.
Explore the ruins of Ephesus while strolling by the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Trajan Fountain and the Great Theater.

The House of Virgin Mary
Legend says that the Virgin Mary lived her last days in a small stone cottage, located in Ephesus. Mary, accompanied by John the Apostle, came to Ephesus at the end of her life. In 1967, Pope Paul VI declared the site authentic and each year a traditional service is held for the pilgrims.
After the tour ends, your driver will transfer you to Izmir’s airport for an evening flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival at Istanbul’s airport, our staff will be waiting for you once more and will transfer you to your hotel.
